Slums Going Green and Clean is a community based organisation founded by Brian Gisore Nyabuti, located in Kibera,
Nairobi, Kenya. The organisation works to improve living conditions, educate people on environmental pollution
and make Kibera a cleaner and more sustainable place. Waste pickers collect 60% of recyclables worldwide, and although
it is estimated that nearly 1 million people live in Kibera, there is no formal waste management system.
Slums Going Green and Clean was set up in 2017 and collects from thousands of households weekly, also cleaning rivers
and making art from recyclables. The members work in harsh conditions, which can greatly effect their health.
