Brown

Hannah Brown is a photojournalist and researcher focused on topics of human rights and climate change. Currently based in Mauritius, she is an intern with UNICEF in Graphic Design and Communications for sustainability, and with Save The Children (CUBIC - The Center for Utilizing Behavioral Insights for Children) in Communications.
Hannah has had experience covering breaking news stories and has photographed for many organisations, including the Refugee Council UK and Slums Going Green and Clean in Nairobi, Kenya. Last year, she was a Communications and Engagement Intern with UNFPA in Mauritius, where she photographed social media campaigns.
Hannah's practice is research-led and in 2024, she graduated with a First-Class Honours Bachelors degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the University of the Arts London. She grew up on the islands of Malta and Gozo for 15 years and her final project examined how the Maltese authorities ‘weaponise’ time in the ‘migration crises’, from non-assistance and delayed rescue at sea, to the length of time people are detained and the asylum procedure. Hannah was also a volunteer with Airwars writing casualty assessments and helping to track civilian harm claims.
Hannah's work continues to focus on environmental and social justice.
